Concrete volume formula
Worked example
A slab measuring 6 m × 4 m × 0.125 m has a volume of 6 × 4 × 0.125 = 3.00 m³. This is the geometric wet volume.
How to use the calculator
Enter length, width and depth, check the units, and select Calculate. For several different sections, calculate each section separately and add the quantities.
Where it is used
The method is useful for slabs, beams, rectangular footings, PCC, floors and other regular concrete elements. Irregular shapes may need to be split into simpler sections.
Common mistakes
Do not enter 125 as metres when the thickness is 125 mm; convert it to 0.125 m. Also check drawings and site measurements before ordering concrete.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I calculate concrete volume?
Multiply length, width and depth after converting the dimensions to consistent units.
What unit is commonly used?
Cubic metre (m³) is commonly used for construction concrete quantities.
Can this be used for slabs?
Yes, for rectangular slab dimensions.
Does it include wastage?
The basic result is geometric volume. Any project allowance should be evaluated separately.
